Madeley Funday. Saturday Sept. 10th 12.30-4.30

This year’s Funday on the College Field, New Road, will be the biggest and best yet!  Following a grand opening by the Mayor at 12.30pm visitors can sample a wide range of competitions, games, crafts, music and other attractions.  Buy a programme and the chance to win a one night stay in the King Charles Suite at the Old Hall, courtesy of Simon and Gary White.

Bring your dog along for the Fun Dog Show, enter a Victoria sponge in the Great Madeley Bake-off and for primary school children bring the sunflower you got at school for the biggest sunflower competition, even if it’s only grown a little bit. Entries by 1.00pm.

Watch the Staffordshire Morris men and the Street Dancers. Listen to the exciting music of Tiffany Lunn. Gaze in amazement at the Strongman Truck Pull.  Ride on Thomas the Tank Engine. Meet a Dalek, Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, Elsa from Frozen.

Have a go on the rifle range, Zorb balls, Paintball, Stanways Funfair rides, bouncy castle and other inflatables.  Hook-a-duck, win on the coconut shy; splat Ronnie the Rat; skittle the skittles; get a ball in a bucket and persuade someone to put their head through the wet sponge throwing board.

See the fire engine, police amenity vehicle, vintage omnibus and make friends with Kash the police dog (subject to availability). There’s a beer tent, food van, ice cream, toy and craft stalls, tombola, charity stalls, face-painting, kids drawing and craftwork.

It promises to be loads of fun, Admission is free and charges for the various attractions are very reasonable. So come along, bring your family and friends, meet up with people you haven’t seen for a while and have a great afternoon.  If it’s fine why not bring a picnic?  In the evening The Offley Arms is putting on a BBQ with live music.
